Syrian worker dies after fall at Erbil construction site
ERBIL — A Syrian construction worker, about 50 years old, died Tuesday morning after falling from a residential project in the Waziran neighborhood of Erbil, local authorities said.
The accident occurred at around 10 a.m. when the worker fell from one of the structures under construction and died at the scene.
Aram Najat from Erbil’s forensic department told 964media, “After the worker’s body was transferred to the forensic medicine department, an investigation was carried out and the remains were handed over to his family.”
Hassan Ramazan, head of the Erbil branch of the Kurdistan Workers Syndicate, told 964media that since the beginning of this year, 11 workers in Erbil have lost their lives while on the job.
