Iraq sees very hot conditions as winds stir desert dust
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Meteorological Authority reported on Wednesday that most regions are experiencing hot to very hot summer weather, with scattered clouds appearing in some areas.
According to the report, temperatures in central and southern regions are slightly rising and remain close to previously recorded levels.
Winds are expected to be moderate northwesterly, ranging from 10 to 20 km/h, increasing in strength during the day in central and southern areas. These conditions are expected to stir dust and sand in desert regions.
The report added that horizontal visibility will range between 8 to 10 kilometers in most areas, dropping to between 5 to 7 kilometers in dusty regions during daytime hours.
