Fire kills 30 livestock in Dhi Qar village

DHI QAR — A fire broke out Sunday in an animal pen on the outskirts of Al-Chibayish district in southern Dhi Qar, killing around 30 sheep and cattle, according to a source in the Civil Defense Directorate.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it reached nearby residential areas, and no human injuries were reported.

“Civil Defense teams arrived quickly and handled the fire in a short time, which helped limit the damage. The losses were limited to the death of approximately 30 sheep and cattle, with no human casualties,” the source told 964media.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. Forensic teams are investigating whether it was accidental or intentional, but authorities have yet to identify any conclusive evidence.
