Woman killed, three injured in rollover crash near Nawgirdan Bridge

SULAYMANIYAH — A woman was killed and three others injured Friday evening when a vehicle overturned near the Nawgirdan Bridge on the main road between Said Sadiq and Halabja, according to local medical officials.

Kamal Saadon, an emergency worker at Shaheed Shawkat General Hospital in Said Sadiq, told 964media that four individuals were brought to the hospital following the crash. “One of them had died, and the other three sustained injuries. All four were members of the same family,” he said.

The victims — a man, a woman, and two children — were traveling from Khurmal toward Said Sadiq when their car overturned near the bridge.

“At the scene of the accident, the mother, who was 30 years old, was found deceased,” Saadon said. Her body was transferred to the forensic medicine department, while the injured were taken to a hospital in Sulaymaniyah for further treatment due to the severity of their conditions.
