Kidnapped child rescued from suspected organ trafficking ring
SAMAWAH — A child abducted from the Al-Askari neighborhood in Samawah has been rescued by Iraqi security forces in Anbar, one day after he went missing, according to a security source.
The child, identified as Ali Latif Jalal, was located when authorities used surveillance footage to track the kidnappers’ vehicle. The search led to Anbar, where security personnel arrested the suspects and freed the boy.
“The last known sighting of Ali Latif Jalal was near the Al-Askari intersection by Al-Jumhouri Center,” a security source told 964media. “We searched for him by reviewing street cameras, tracking the abductors’ car, and coordinating with the National Security Service in Baghdad, which led us to his whereabouts in Anbar.”
The source confirmed that all gang members involved in human organ trafficking were taken into custody and referred to the judiciary.
“Parents must remain cautious to protect their children from these criminal networks,” the source warned.
