Two road collisions in Kurdistan Region claim three lives
ERBIL — Two road collisions in the Kurdistan Region today claimed three lives and left three others injured, officials confirmed.
The first incident occurred early Tuesday on the Sebiran-Erbil road. A truck collided with a three-wheeled motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two brothers who were Syrian nationals. “At around 7:30 a.m., a collision occurred between a three-wheeled motorcycle and a truck,” said Mustafa Khdr, a resident of Sebiran, a small town near Erbil. “Both passengers on the motorcycle, who were brothers, lost their lives, while the truck driver was injured and transported to the hospital,” he added.
The second collision took place later in the day in the Beroshke neighborhood in eastern Duhok. A truck struck three vehicles: a mini-bus, a pickup truck and a taxi. “The truck driver failed to stop, leading to the collision,” said Haytham Barbahari, a spokesperson for the 122 Emergency Health Center, in a statement to 964media.
The taxi driver succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Azadi Hospital. Two others were injured but are reported to be in stable condition, according to Barbahari.
