Two dead, four injured in crash on Koya-Dukan Road
ERBIL – A crash on the Koya-Dukan road near the village of Dawdawa on Monday left two people dead and four others injured, according to local authorities.
The incident involved a Toyota Crown and an Opel Vectra. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Azad Fattah, deputy director of Shaheed Dr. Khalid Hospital, told 964media that the victims were a 70-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man. “Both victims died shortly after arriving at the hospital despite emergency efforts,” Fattah said. Their bodies were later transferred to the Koya forensic medical department.
Four others sustained injuries in the incident, and their conditions are reported as stable. “Hospital staff have taken all necessary measures to ensure their recovery,” Fattah added. The crash occurred at the Dawdawa intersection, a hazardous curve on the Koya-Dukan road that has been the site of frequent traffic incidents, often leading to casualties and injuries.
