Security forces thwart kidnapping attempt in Salah Al-Din, suspects arrested
SALAH AL-DIN — Security forces in Samarra foiled a kidnapping attempt on Wednesday, arresting the suspects and seizing weapons and vehicles used in the crime, according to a statement from Samarra Police.
The operation, conducted under the supervision of Brig. Gen. Iyad Ibrahim Hassan, followed precise intelligence about the incident. “A field team was formed to track and apprehend the suspects,” the statement said. The arrested individuals are now in custody, and their confessions have been documented as part of the legal process. They will be referred to the judiciary to face charges.
The Samarra Police Command emphasized its dedication to maintaining security in the city. “The security forces, in all their divisions, remain vigilant protectors of the sacred city, deterring anyone who attempts to undermine its safety,” the statement added, concluding with, “May God protect Iraq and its people.”
