Samarkand Beauty Lounge blends beauty services and a café for women

DHI QAR — The newly opened Samarkand Beauty Lounge in Nasiriyah is redefining self-care with its unique combination of beauty services and a women-only café. Located near the Local Administration Stadium, the lounge was founded by sisters Ghufran Najm Abdul and her sister, inspired by the intricate designs of doors in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, which reminded Ghufran of the shape of women’s nails.

Samarkand offers traditional beauty services such as nail care, acrylic designs, eyelash extensions, and henna art, paired with a relaxing café area where women can unwind.

“Women have embraced the idea with great enthusiasm,” Ghufran told 964media. A graduate of the College of Administration and Economics, Ghufran decided to create the lounge after struggling to find a government job. “I used to work on cinematic makeup at home to save money and bring this vision to life,” she said, crediting her family and friends for their support.

Initially unsure of how the concept would be received, Ghufran shared photos and videos of the lounge on her personal account and was encouraged by the positive feedback. “I’m proud of my work and encourage all girls to pursue their dreams without hesitation,” she said.

Customers have praised the lounge’s innovative approach. “It’s wonderful to see places like this in our city with such a modern and beautiful design,” said customer Asmaa Abdul Khidr. “Samarkand offers a variety of services, including acrylics, nail cleaning, eyelash extensions, and stunning henna designs, all in a safe and private space for women.”

With its artistic touches and inviting atmosphere, Samarkand Beauty Lounge is quickly becoming a favorite destination for women in Nasiriyah, offering a unique blend of relaxation and creativity.
