New environmental campaign to launch across Kurdistan Region schools

KURDISTAN REGION — A new environmental campaign, led by Aynda Organization for Environmental Protection, is set to launch across the Kurdistan Region. The initiative includes distributing educational books and posters to schools and educational centers throughout the region, aiming to raise environmental awareness among students.

The campaign, in collaboration with the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Education, will involve the education departments of all four provinces: Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Halabja.

Maroof Majid, head of the Aynda Organization, told 964media that they have been running environmental projects for several years and are now planning to broaden their scope. “Last year, we implemented the campaign in the Sulaymaniyah and Halabja provinces, as well as in the Raparin and Garmiyan administrations. This year, the goal is to extend it to Erbil and Duhok provinces,” Majid said.

The campaign includes two newly printed environmental guidebooks containing nearly 40 plays, poems, and texts with environmental themes. In addition, a variety of educational posters will be distributed to schools across the region.

Majid also revealed plans to establish environmental teams in schools to further the initiative. “These teams will focus on promoting environmental awareness and guidelines among students,” he added.
