Najaf horseman prepares purebred Arabian for upcoming contests
MASHKAB, Najaf — Abbas Al-Khalidi, a horseman from Mashkab, is preparing his prized Arabian horse Wadha for a series of competitions, including a beauty contest in Samawah and a speed race in Bahr Al-Najaf.
964media cameras documented Al-Khalidi’s dedicated preparations at his farm near Shatt Al-Mashkab. Wadha, a purebred Arabian of Kuhaylan lineage, is said to boast exceptional speed and fitness, qualities Al-Khalidi attributes to her purebred pedigree.
Kuhaylan Arabian horses are renowned for their endurance and long-distance running capabilities, setting them apart from other breeds, according to Al-Khalidi. Wadha has already proven her mettle, claiming first place in a local Mashkab competition.
Now, Al-Khalidi is intensifying her training for the upcoming contests. With rising water levels in Shatt Al-Mashkab, he took Wadha for a thorough cleaning and grooming to ensure she shines at the events.
