Najaf provincial council elects new president and deputy
NAJAF, February 5 – A majority of Najaf provincial council members voted on Monday to approve Hussein Wahid Al-Issaoui as the council’s president and Ghayt Shab’a as deputy.
A total of 14 out of 15 members attended the session, with deputy Adnan Al-Zurfi recorded as absent. Members called for a recess to discuss appointing the next governor in a move brought forward by Zaid Al-Shamkhi and Hussein Wahid Al-Issaoui from the State of Law Coalition.
